Tabling Procedure

1) Read over the SOSA materials before getting started.

2) Set up your table in a well-traveled location.

3) Tape "Stanford Open Space Alliance" and "Save the Stanford Foothills" signs on the three visible sides of your table.

4) Put out fact sheets, petitions, letter writing fliers and newspaper articles (try not to crowd the table). The other materials are for people who are especially interested.

5) Use multiple clipboards so that many people can sign the petition at once.

6) Ask people if they have signed the petition to save the Stanford Foothills. If you are working with someone else, have one person stay at the table, while the other approaches people with fliers and encourages them to go to the table and sign the petition.

7) If someone is very interested, make sure they check the box "Send More Info" on the petition and ask them if they would be willing to circulate the petition. If yes, give them petitions and fact sheets.

8) Encourage people to write clearly, especially their email addresses (we send them a note later asking if they would like to be on our email list).
